Q: Are the teachers certified?

A: Yes. The teachers at El Cajon SDA Christian have both the Seventh-day Adventist teaching credential and the California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential. Southeastern California Conference’s (SECC) Office of Education provides and requires its teachers to participate in professional growth workshops, classes, seminars and other professionally beneficial opportunities.

Q: How many students are there in each classroom?

A: Because we are offer a multi-grade program, our classrooms hold a maximum of 21 students.

Q: How are the grades/classrooms divided?

A: Kindergarten through fourth grade are in one classroom while fifth through eighth grade are in the second classroom.

Do you have to be SDA to attend?

A: No. “El Cajon Seventh-day Adventist Christian School is open to all students of good moral character without regard to race or ethnic origin. All students are accorded equal rights and privileges on a racially non-discriminatory basis. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarship and local programs, and other school administered programs” (Student Handbook, Admission Policy).

Q: Are lunches served?

A: Our campus does not have a cafeteria. Students bring their lunches from home.

Q: What are the school hours?

A: Monday through Thursday school hours are 8 am – 3 pm. Fridays school hours are 8 am – 12 pm.

Q: Do you have before or after school care?

A: Yes. Campus opens at 7am for early drop-offs. After School Care (ASC) is available from 3:15 pm to 5 pm Monday-Thursday, and 12:15 pm – 2 pm on Fridays.

Holidays: Before & After School Care is closed on ALL days that school is not in session.

Hourly Rates: $2.00 per child the first 15 minutes. $1.00 every 15 minutes thereafter per child. (Ex. First full hour per child is $5.00. Second and proceeding full hours for each child is $4.00).
